Some Yoga Girls Wear Neon

I was feeling crafty last weekend and when I couldn't find a unique neon necklace to wear out, I decided to make my own. Oh you know, a little Do It Yourself project to drive the hubby nuts. Yup, that's his golf magazine I painted on. Shhhhh

My inspiration came from this awesome piece, but seeing as though you can't buy spray paint in the city, I decided to use nail polish instead. For best results put 2-3 coats of color and one top coat- you know the drill ladies.

Sorry to all my male followers, I'll make sure to post something for your kind soon. ;)
Have a great day!

Yoga Benefit for the Ecuadorian Amazon

Hi Yogi's! I'm so excited to be apart of this very cool yoga benefit in June. We hope you join us for this wonderful cause. Here's all the info you need and a link below to register. Have a great day! :) - Angela

One Love Chicago is a two-hour yoga class consisting of 108 sun salutations that will be taught by 12 inspiring teachers from different studios throughout Chicago. Each teacher will lead the class through nine sun salutations.

It is tradition in some yoga circles to participate in a 108 sun salutations practice at the change of seasons. In honor of the summer solstice, yogis from all over Chicago will participate in One Love Chicago. This event is appropriate for all levels. There is no pressure to complete the entire 108 sun salutations. You may give yourself permission to rest or to modify as your energy requires.
One Love Chicago is an event that invites a collaboration of efforts amongst studios and devotees of yoga to practice together for a common cause, in this case, for Off the Mat Into the World Global Seva Challenge: Ecuador.
“One Love” is a movement to create conscious activism, made up of yoginis and yogis attempting to live our yoga, our understanding that we are one, off the mat and in every moment. One Love’s hope is to inspire asana practitioners to use the tools of yoga to open themselves up to Seva — sacred activism and conscious service. One Love, the movement, was born out of inspiration seeded by Off the Mat, Into the World and One Love Dallas.
Each participant is challenged to raise $108 to benefit grassroots organizations in Ecuador working to protect the Amazon and its people from the devastation of deforestation and oil production.

Packed for Freeman

What an amazing and PACKED weekend! I attended a bunch of wonderful birthday celebrations, a lovely Mother's Day dinner in Crystal Lake, and of course a super awesome yoga workshop at Yogaview with Richard Freeman. Not only was my weekend packed, my mouth about dropped when I stepped into the studio to see the huge turnout for Richard's workshop- insane in the membrane.

Hope to keep the good times roll'n. Happy Monday yogi's!

PS- So happy I got to see my good friend Nick visiting us from Canada! Next time he is in town, I plan to drag his Paleo butt to a vegan restaurant. ;)

B*tchin Kitchen

Love Sable Kitchen and their "Farm & Garden" part of the menu. So many of the items can be made to order without cheese (if you try extra hard to be dairy-free like me) which is pretty awesome. Although the F&G dishes may not be 100% vegan, lots of them can be customized to come pretty close. :)

Marci, next time we go to Sable (which needs to be soon), lets avoid going on a school night. I'd like to checkout that classy bar across the street for some post dinner drinks.

Friday: Vino & Vinyasa

Bliss Out with Yoga and the Wines of Italy
Friday April 19th 6:30 – 8:30pm
"Explore your senses both on and off the mat! Yoga instructor and wine enthusiast Rebecca Delott invites you to join her for an event that pairs two nourishing elements: an all-levels 75 minute down-to-earth yoga practice that then flows seamlessly into a mindful, 45 minute educational tasting of boutique Italian wines. This energizing, informative workshop celebrates the natural connection between the abundance of the vinyasa practice and the sharing of the earth’s fruit of the vine.
Rebecca Delott spent years in the wine import business before becoming a yoga teacher. This blend of experiences allows Rebecca to skillfully explore the profound relationship between the grounding of one’s spirit/mind/body through the yoga practice and the anchoring process of the vine.
Cost of the workshop is $40 per person and includes yoga, wine and light snacks. Register via Paypal below."
